The city of Highland Park said at around 8 p.m., officers were investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Walker Avenue. Residents in the immediate area were asked to shelter in place for several hours before police lifted the recommendation. Police released images of two persons of interest who were seen talking with the victim before the shooting. Authorities said one person was injured and being transported for medical treatment, but didn't provide additional details.
Police established a perimeter and were using canines and drones to assist in the search. In an update at around 10:30 p.m., Highland Park authorities said evidence indicated the suspects fled the area.
