Barry M. Goldberg is charged with murder after Highland Park police said 2 people were found dead inside a home Wednesday morning.
Highland Park emergency personnel responded to a unit at an apartment complex at 1850 Green Bay Road. Police officers saw apparent blood under the door and forced their way into the unit.
Police found two people dead inside, police said. Another person was inside the unit and was taken into custody, police said. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Barry M. Goldberg of Highland Park. Wednesday evening he was charged with two counts of first degree murder. He will appear in bond court Thursday morning.
A resident of the building, who did not want to be identified or appear on camera, said she thinks her downstairs neighbors, a couple in their 70s who have an adult son, are the victims.Investigators said they received multiple 911 calls Wednesday morning for a wellbeing check about screaming coming from the second floor unit.
"I heard screaming, the same kind of screaming, like paranoid, like you're trying to get me, you're trying to hurt me," the neighbor said.Copyright © 2022 WLS-TV. All Rights Reserved.
