While he didn’t say Trump should be removed from office, John Kasich said “impeachment should move forward and should go for a full examination and a trial in the United States Senate.”
Kasich said he changed his mind after hearing President Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney on Thursdayto a quid pro quo with Ukraine involving a debunked conspiracy theory about the 2016 election.
“Withholding vital military aid to a nation like Ukraine, which has Russian troops inside its territory, that’s threatened all the time, and withholding it so that a political operation can take place, investigate this thing around the server… to me it’s totally inappropriate, it’s an abuse of power,” Kasich said. “I know presidents who withhold aid because of policy differences. This isn’t a policy difference.
