Today's Alaska weather forecast from Alaska's Weather Source.

ANCHORAGE , AK - A large area of low pressure will produce high winds over southcentral and heavy snow and rain for the Panhandle. A First Alert remains in place for the Lower Matanuska Valley. A high wind warning impacts Palmer, Wasilla and Big Lake where N-NE winds 35-50 mph, with gusts 70-80 mph are likely.

The winds are ramping up Saturday night and will likely stay strong into early Monday. Residents should be prepared for power outages with these windstorm conditions. Dense fog will persist over the Fairbanks area through the weekend. An advisory has been issued for the interior city and surrounding areas. Low temperatures will be in the minus 30s and 40s overnight. And stay well below zero Sunday too. A mess of winter weather is hitting the Panhandle. Haines reported 15 inches of snow so far, 5 inches for Juneau. Get the snowplows, snow-blowers and shovels ready for what could be 18 to 36 inches of snow in parts of the northern and central Panhandle, before the rain packs it down and slushes it up. Widespread winter storm warnings, advisories and a flood watch are issued for the southeast portion of the state this weekend.24/7 Alaska Weather: Get access to live radar, satellite, weather cameras, current conditions, and the latest weather forecast here.
