HEADLAND – A Patrick Banda 1-yard touchdown run with nine seconds left gave Rehobeth a season-ending 36-29 win over Headland on Friday night.

Rehobeth’s Cole Joyner scored on a 2-yard run in the first half and Headland’s Marcus Reeves added a 2-yard score to make it 7-7 at the half. Brantley 45, Ariton 27: Jayden Parks was 16-of-20 passing for 320 yards and four touchdowns and ran the ball nine times for 65 yards and a score in leading Brantley to the victory.
Holmes Co 36, Opp 32: A.J. Smallwood had a career-high 26 tackles for the Bobcats, coming up just five tackles short of the school record. Samson 31, Northside Methodist 21: Samson finished the season with a 31-21 win at home over Northside Methodist Academy. G.W. Long 28, Geneva 3: Blayne Wood threw for 154 yards off 14-of-19 passing with one touchdown and ran for 84 yards on 12 carries with two scores to lead G.W. Long to a season-ending win over the Panthers.Wood scored on runs of 1 yard and 29 yards and threw a 14-yard pass to Landon Grubbs as G.W. Long built a 21-3 halftime lead.George Diaz kicked a 22-yard field goal for Geneva.
The loss came a couple of hours after the Alabama High School Athletic Association required the Trojans to forfeit all five of their wins, including four Class 5A, Region 2 wins, because of an illegal player based off the AHSAA’s Transfer Rule.
