CIF Southern Section and Los Angeles City Section football teams are now immersed in fall camp, coming into their own identities with seasons starting as soon as Aug. 18. Here are five intriguing storylines that Daily News area fans should keep an eye on as we get closer to kickoff.Hart has a good shot at winning the Foothill League title this season with a plethora of returners and multiple capable receivers.

The Lions return three pieces of a solid offense that helped earn them second place in the Marmonte League last season. Stanford commit Chase Farrell had 33 receptions for 408 yards and five touchdowns as a junior and Washington commit Justice Williams had 54 catches for 910 yards and 10 touchdowns in his junior year.

The school’s synthetic turf field has been deemed unsafe to play on after failing an impact test. The field is still under warranty and LAUSD estimates work to begin this month and conclude in September. Fresh leadership has arrived in head coach Brad Vonnahme, who comes to Crespi from a defensive quality control position at Fresno State. He has also coached at other colleges, including Wayne State College, Midland University, University of Hawaii, Utah State and University of Sioux Falls.
