Defensive standoutsHughes Williams, Houston Lee and Andrew Gil, Houston Academy: Williams earned 14 tackles, including one for a loss of 18 yards, Lee recorded nine tackles and Gil had six tackles plus a game-sealing interception in the final minute of the Raiders’ 28-21 win over Trinity. Gil also had a team-high 58 yards rushing on 12 carries and caught one pass for 10 yards.
Memphis O’Quinn, Zion Chapel: O’Quinn, just an eighth grader, had nine tackles, including five for losses, plus a forced fumble in the Rebels’ 42-6 win over Barbour County.
