A Georgia high school student died this week after participating in outdoor basketball practice in extreme temperatures.
Imani Bell, an 11th grader at Elite Scholars Academy in Clayton County, Georgia, was reportedly running uphill on Tuesday when she suddenly collapsed.
School district officials confirmed the teen's death in a statement Thursday, noting that it was still working to gather more details about the circumstances. Beasley said grief counselors would be available to help the family as needed and a crisis team will be assigned to her school to support students and staff.
