“The thing that we talked about immediately after the loss is we had to earn the right to be back here,” Carondelet coach Kelly Sopak said. “I know everyone assumed the likelihood we’d be back, but there was no guarantee. We had to earn our way back and I think that really kept them focused in the moment.”
Stanford commit Talana Lepolo of Carondelet gets tangled up with a defender in the second half Saturday. “Pushing the pace is culture that Kelly promotes the most,” Lepolo said. “The more possessions you have, the more you score. So that’s what we like to emphasize with our team.”“We came out too slow,” SRV coach John Cristiano said. “We were too timid, we didn’t meet the intensity and that’s what we should’ve done. That’s on the coaches. We need to be better next time.
