A high-profile lawyer was confronted by a gunman and shot in broad daylight outside a home in Sydney's south-west, which is on the same street where a gangland figure was executed last year.
Mahmoud Abbas, 31, was at a Narelle Crescent property in Greenacre about 10:25am when he was hit by bullets during a confrontation with an"unknown person".
Photos from the scene showed a shirtless Mr Abbas wincing in pain on a stretcher and being kept warm by thermal blankets.
