It takes a unique premise for a network show to dominate streaming, and this is precisely how High Potential shines. Created by Drew Goddard and aired weekly on ABC, High Potential follows cleaning-lady Morgan Gillroy . Though she appears, at first, to be an average working-class woman, her potential goes far beyond this. Morgan has an IQ of 160, and it's this high intellect that allows her to see crime scenes in a way others can't. This essentially makes High Potential's protagonist a whodunit master. High Potential Is A Delightful Watch Sherlock Holmes-style crime procedurals are a dime a dozen, but the best of these are always a lot of fun to watch. High Potential adds several unique elements, successfully giving it an edge. First, its female protagonist is enough to set this series apart. She's not presented as a"one of the guys" detective, but a confidently feminine genius. Add in that unlikely job of being a cleaning lady and a single mom of three, and Morgan is far from what we would expect. Of course, part of the appeal of procedurals is that they follow a familiar formula. High Potential offers a distinctive protagonist but also delivers exactly what audiences expect from the genre. It's a show easy to consume, with an episodic murder-of-the-week approach that lets viewers come and go as they please without sacrificing intense pacing and comedy. Overall, High Potential is a crowd-pleaser that's an absolute delight to watch. High Potential Season 2 Has Been Great So Far A common pitfall of procedural whodunits like High Potential is that, once their schtick stops feeling fresh, they lose their appeal. It's always the second season that will determine whether a show has legs, so all eyes were on Olson's Morgan to see whether High Potential could keep the momentum going. So far, the series' sophomore season hasn't let us down. High Potential season 2 premiered on September 16, 2025, and it very quickly established a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%. Praise for this installment largely centers on the same elements addressed in season 1, with acknowledgements of all the ways High Potenatial continues to raise the bar. There's a sense that this show has a lot more in store for viewers who keep watching season 2, all while maintaining that easy-to-watch tone.
