The beaches might offer a slight break with the east coast sea breeze, but anyone planning time in the surf should use extra caution—there’s a low to moderate rip current risk.Thinking about boating, grilling, or making outdoor dinner plans? The morning should be mostly sunny, but things change quickly in the afternoon as storms move from west to east. Scattered storms—including some strong ones—are forecast to be most likely between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., especially across southeast Georgia and the U.S. 301 corridor. These storms could bring downpours, gusty winds, and frequent lightning—so when thunder rumbles, it’s time to move plans indoors.Looking ahead to Saturday, expect a much drier day—something to look forward to for anyone planning to catch up on yard work, hit the beach, or hang out by the pool. The next five days are predicted to bring about an inch of rain inland and even up to an inch and a half in parts of southeast Georgia. The extended outlook keeps temperatures steady in the mid-90s, with overnight lows in the mid-70s and more afternoon showers likely building in after the weekend. Sunrise comes at 6:33 a.m. and sunset will be as late as 8:32 p.m.—plenty of daylight for all your summer plans, as long as you keep a weather eye out for those late-day storms.
