Seniors at Granada Hills Charter High School, a top 2021 California Distinguished School, celebrate graduation night.
Granada Hills Charter High School held its 2023 graduation on Thursday, June 1, during a cool and happy evening on the field at the school’s John Elway Stadium. The ceremony welcomed 1,091 candidates for the long-anticipated honor.
, which is also performing in June at the WEHO Pride Parade and the Chicago Highland Games, continued the tradition of playing the pipes at the “Home of the Highlanders.” Iliana Acevedo, the school’s ASB President, addressed her fellow graduates and fireworks were planned at the conclusion of the ceremony. The high school opened in 1960 in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Although it still has ties to the LAUSD, the school is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year as an independent charter school. It is also the largest charter high school in the United States.. The school was named a California Distinguished School in 2021 by the California Department of Education.
