The President and CEO of The Hershey Company , Michele Buck, has announced her plan to retire in 2026. The Hershey Company states that Buck informed the company Board that she plans to step down from her duties effectively on June 30, 2026.A special committee has been formed in order to find a suitable replacement CEO for the company.

Buck said: 'I am a firm believer that our long-term success is rooted in Hershey culture – the spirit of innovation has kept us at the forefront of new and changing trends to best serve our customers and consumers, made us a stronger partner for our communities and contributed to significant value creation for our shareholders. This year will be my 20th at Hershey and as we embark on a new year, I believe now is the right time to formally activate our succession planning and begin the transition to Hershey's next leader.' The Milton Hershey School and Hershey Trust Company also released a statement following Buck's retirement announcement, stating: 'The Hershey Company is iconic, and our investment in it for 115 years has enabled the Milton Hershey School Trust to transform the lives of more than 11,000 graduates through high-quality education and structured home life. Succession planning is a decision made by The Hershey Company Board of Directors, and we have great confidence in Hershey’s ability to realize its full potential and deliver long-term growth for all shareholders.
