Heritage Place Park is to be built at 130 N. Wright St. in the Naperville Historic District by the Naperville Park District -- the 138th park to be built in the city of Naperville.

The Naperville Park District will open Heritage Place Park in spring 2024 on property in the Naperville Historic District at Wright and School streets.

The Naperville Park District has acquired new land and plans to build a neighborhood park just east of the downtown area. Plans for Heritage Place Park at 130 N. Wright St. were presented at last week’s Naperville City Council meeting. It will be the city’s 138th park. The park will include a playground, picnic shelter, plaza and open space. Construction is set to begin this fall with an anticipated opening in spring 2024.

The park is part of the Heritage Park town house development, which includes three units being built in the historic Kroehler mansion. It was saved from demolition by developer Ram West Capital, which proposed preserving the house and incorporating it as part of the new subdivision being built at Wright and School streets. The development’s located in the city’s Historic District and will have 41 town homes when complete.
