Luling, Texas, Deputy Fire Chief Keith Lohse said the old building caught fire during demolition to accommodate the new, world's biggest Buc-ee's.

The Luling Fire Department has determined the cause of the dramatic blaze at the original Buc-ee's last week, which had fans fearing for the world's biggest location next door. At 10:15 a.m July 1, an accidental blaze broke out at the old building during the demolition process, said Keith Lohse , Luling deputy fire chief. The flames were controlled by noon. 'The cause is from no criminal activity,' Lohse said via email.

'It was accidental / unintentional from the use of the heavy equipment during the demo process.' The former Buc-ee's building is being torn down to make way for fuel pumps, parking and drainage at the travel chain's newest location, which is touted as the largest Buc-ee's in the world. Some fanatics went to pieces as a plume of black smoke rose over the Luling Buc-ee's sign, and rumors spread that the newly opened location had gone up in flames.
