People across the San Francisco Bay Area woke up to chilly temperatures Tuesday morning.

"Because this storm came from over land, it's not bringing in any of that moist air, so it's not retaining heat as well," she explained."Drier air is colder, moist air retains heat better." Interior valleys in the North Bay, East Bay and South Bay are expected to see temperatures in the low 30s with the coldest locations dipping into the high 20s. Bingaman said the coldest temperatures will likely occur in the East Bay hills. Coastal and bay shoreline locations are expected to cool into the low 30s to low 40s.
