Skylar Celeste Boone Construction is happening all throughout the city of Dothan and one of the major projects — sidewalk installation — only has one more site left to complete. The municipality is continuously working to install new sidewalks throughout the city. Sidewalks provide a safe location for pedestrians to walk to local destinations.

Currently, the city funds sidewalks with city funds and/or grants such as the Community Development Block Grant and the Transportation Alternatives Program . The following sidewalk projects are currently being designed or under construction. “These sidewalks will improve active transportation for pedestrians and cyclists,” said Jeff Wilson, civil engineer for Public Works and project manager. “I enjoy walking and running so seeing people in the city of Dothan get a safe way for citizens to get active brings me joy.”
