Many Utah restaurants are planning special menus for Valentine’s Day weekend. Other venues are also doing “Galentine’s Day” events and Super Bowl watching parties.

Ashley Litton and Raj Saini enjoy a meal together at Lake Effect cocktail bar and restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, Monday, Jan. 31, 2022. Lake Effect is one of many Utah restaurants offering a special menu for Valentine's Day weekend. This story is available to Salt Lake Tribune subscribers only. Thank you for supporting local journalism.

Because Valentine’s Day lands on a Monday, restaurants are offering reservations starting on Friday, Feb. 11, and running through Feb. 14. In all cases, assume reservations are required, that tax and gratuity are extra, and that you should book now, if it’s not too late — for example, Log Haven is totally filled for Feb. 14, and so is Caffe Molise, though they may have a few walk-in tables available that day.

If you aren’t able to grab a reservation and aren’t stuck on celebrating on the 14th proper, note that Table X is offering its Valentine’s menu for a full two weeks, through Feb. 19. For those who aren’t into traditional sit-down romantic dinners, we’ve included some other options — after all, the Valentine’s weekend also encompasses Super Bowl Sunday on the 13th.
