Here's what you need to know ahead of tonight's 'Vanderpump Rules' finale
MISERY BUSINESS:Season 10 has been dominated by the Tom Sandoval/Raquel Leviss/Ariana Madix cheating scandal. But this has gone far beyond reality TV drama. The"Scandoval," as fans have dubbed it, has permeated pop culture so completely that even those unfamiliar with the show have at least cursory knowledge of it.
, a popular Houston content creator and Bravo fan, says the situation blew up because it was so unexpected."The cast reacted strongly against Sandoval and Raquel, which aligns with most of the audience's shock and outrage, so we all feel a part of this," Omari says. "Even for people who don't watch the show, the story is pretty clear cut in its awfulness. When they hear, ‘Sandoval and Ariana were together for nearly a decade, bought a house together, she was grieving over the deaths of her grandma and her dog, and meanwhile Sandoval was having an affair with one of her best friends for months,' there really isn't any room for sympathy for Sandoval or Raquel.
And this is just the beginning. A three-part"VPR" reunion starts next week and promises endless meme fodder. Fans showed up at Sandoval's recent Houston concert with signs —'Vanderpump Rules' star Tom Sandoval performed Friday at Party on the Plaza' in Houston.In a preview for tonight's finale, Madix tells friends that she found out about Sandoval and Leviss after discovering"a screen recording of them on FaceTime.
