I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Sony has announced a last-minute State of Play, creeping in at the end of May here, which is meant to show off a number of PS5 and PSVR2 titles, 14 in all.“State of Play is back! Tune in live for updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year. The 30+ minute show features 14 titles.”
Yeah that’s it. That’s all they have to say about it. 14 games in 30 minutes with transitions is probably no more than 90 seconds a game or so, so this is not going to be a huge showcase for any one game in particular. As for the PlayStation Studios games “arriving later this year” the options are somewhat limited for what those might be and it’s not going to be anythingbig, as we know things like Ghost of Tsushima 2 or new Santa Monica or Naughty Dog games much further away. There were some reports that Insomniac’s Wolverine game may make it out in fall 2024, but A) that does not seem plausible and B) it does not seem likely it would get enough of a spotlight in a 30 minute showcase alongside 13 other games.
