Here’s the status of some of the most important bills in this year’s Texas Legislature.

But despite Republicans banding together for those big votes, they were split on some of the big priorities for Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan.

After the Texas House and Senate earlier this year proposed about $4.6 billion for border security efforts over the next two spending years, the chambers settled on about $5.1 billion in its final version. The bill would take effect Sept. 1. Minors who are already on these medications would go through a “weaning off” period as directed by their doctor. Gender-affirming health care would still be available for adults.School safety contains a number of provisions to increase security in schools. It includes requirements for at least one armed officer to be present at each school.
