I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Of all the shows that probably didn’t need a season 2, top of the list would be Squid Game , which took ten years for its creator to finally get it made. But as Netflix ’s most popular show in history, this was inevitable. Now,where yes, it has in fact squeezed in before the end of 2024 as promised. Of course, that’s oversince the first one was released, in what is probably one of the longest waits between seasons of a show I can remember.
In it, we see the hooded workers with PlayStation symbols on their faces setting up a new game, though we do not really see what the new events are going to be, which is not the biggest surprise. Seong Gi-hun is thrown back into it, and he’s confronted by the famed “black mask” from the first game. The end of the trailer shows that he has the same number from the first game.
“Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.
