Katy ISD graduations start this week. Here’s everything you need to know for the big day.
Courtesy of Katy Independent School DistrictAs the young scholars from nine high schools prepare to make their big walk to “Pomp and Circumstance,” here’s some important information about this year’s graduations in Katy ISD, according to media relations representative Maria DiPetta.All graduation ceremonies begin at 8 p.m. on their respective days and will take place at Legacy Stadium.
Are there any limitations, like number of attendees each student may bring, dress code or photography? Due to the Legacy Stadium’s large seating capacity, attendees do not have to purchase a ticket to attend the event. Because graduation ceremonies are outdoors, it is recommended that patrons dress comfortably.are permitted on the field, but visitors are welcome to take photos from their seats with their personal devices.
No signs larger than standard poster board are allowed. Balloons, air horns and laser pointers are prohibited. Visitors may not bring in outside food or drink, but concession stands will be open.Katy ISD has purchased security devices to be staged at all large event venues. These devices are already installed at the entrances of the stadium. The devices are non-intrusive narrow towers that seamlessly screen visitors for objects prohibited within large event venues.will be enforced.
As with any school event, police officers and security guards will also be present during graduation ceremonies.
