Silicon Valley is where you have all the ideas coming from," said San Jose State University Professor Ahmed Banafa."Under Donald Trump's presidency, he ended up selling American chips to China to help them improve and modernize their military, basically sold us out," Harris said."First of all, they bought their chips from Taiwan.

last month, the department said that the U.S. would manufacture nearly 30% of the world's leading-edge chips by 2032, up from 0% in 2021 when President Joe Biden and Harris took office.The chip shortage, exacerbated during the height of the pandemic, had a severe impact on global supply chains and the overall economy. Contributing factors included a drought in Taiwan and a fire at a chip plant in Japan, all while demand for semiconductors soared.
