Long-range weather models are pointing toward warmer temps on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in San Antonio. Here's a closer look.
Now that Christmas is just over a week away, weather models are starting to have a better idea of what type of weather pattern we can expect for the holiday. As of now, most long-range models are not showing any major weather systems over Texas. Instead, high pressure could make for a warm Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. According to the Climate Prediction Center ’s outlook for Dec 23-29, San Antonio has a 73% chance of above-average temperatures for the week of Christmas.
A few areas of drizzle are possible early on, but skies will stay mostly dry. Temperatures will rise gradually throughout the day. San Antonio will reach the low 70s by noon, topping out in the mid-70s by around 3 p.m. A few scattered showers are also possible during the late afternoon and evening. However, the chance of measurable rainfall is only about 30%, so many areas will stay dry. Tuesday: The abnormally warm weather will continue Tuesday.
