Facebook has lost at least 18 executives in 2021 as it goes through a major shakeup. Here's who left the company.

Marcus started at Facebook in 2014 as a vice president of messaging products. In 2018, he was promoted to head up the company's fintech segment, initially a blockchain endeavor, that grew to include a digital wallet called Novi, formerly Calibra, and Facebook's own cryptocurrency. Marcus is credited as the co-creator of Facebook's yet-to-launch coin, first named Libra, then rebranded Diem in the face of regulatory scrutiny.
Weil joined Facebook in 2016, initially as vice president of product at Instagram. In 2018, he moved to head up Calibra, the first name for Facebook's digital wallet, now named Novi, and he's credited as a co-founder of the platform's first cryptocurrency Deim. He left the company in Aprilbefore the launch of either product, to be a president at Planet, a company that takes daily satellite photos of earth.
Sharma joined Facebook in 2017 to lead messaging products across the company's apps, including Instagram and WhatsApp, including encryption efforts. She also worked on Instagram Kids, which was put on hold in September after Facebook came under more political scrutiny following whistleblower revelations about psychological harm Instagram can cause in teens. Sharma left in February to join Instacart as COO.
