A rebuild of Clements High School was a major part of the Fort Bend ISD's $1.26 billion bond proposal approved by district voters on Saturday.Saturday's elections in Houston suburbs included Fort Bend ISD voters' approval of all three propositions in a $1.26 billion bond package that will fund a sweeping array of projects, security upgrades and infrastructure updates including a rebuild of Clements High School, according to unofficial voting results.
Final results were unavailable late Saturday in the city of Pearland's bond election in which voters considered propositions to fund municipal projects for drainage, streets and park improvements.for Fort Bend ISD's bond package, the largest in the district's history. Proposition B, which received support from 67 percent of voters, authorizes around $52 million in bonds for students to receive new computers and devices for staff.
The bond proposal also includes $1.5 million for safety and security upgrades with safety film, perimeter fencing, alarm security and cybersecurity throughout the district. The district did not anticipate that the bond package will result in an increase in its property tax rate, which is $1.2565 per $100 in property value.New Caney ISD voters approved the district's $695 million bond package, which leaders say will help keep up with a student population expected to increase by one-third.
The proposition also includes $15.4 million to replace sidewalks and fill sidewalk gaps throughout the city.
