SIGOMA is one of the largest interest groups within the LGA . They represent the interests of authorities and urban communities in the northern, midland and south-coast regions of– An authoritative and influential voice on local government finance and funding issues to ensure member authorities remain well-informed regarding central government policy.
They are looking for a Barnsley-based Head of Policy & Research to lead a small team that represents the interests of its 47 local authority members to Ministers, MPs, Government departments and within the Local Government Association. The salary is in the region of £50,914 to £54,518 and the essential criteria includes Level 7 CCAB qualified, in-depth knowledge of local government finance and policy issues, extensive experience of providing specialist financial advice and guidance on local government finance issues at all levels of seniority, external agencies and other forums.
