The incident happened on Sunday, the PSNI say

A helicopter pilot reported a near miss with a drone near the Foyle bridge in Derry on Sunday after the drone was flown, according to the PSNI, at an "illegal and extremely dangerous" altitude.

Police also issued a reminder about the rules and regulations surrounding drone use in Northern Ireland. The operator should never fly higher than 400ft from ground where drone is directly over. Never fly in a Flight Restricted Zone these are found in and around airports like our own City of Derry Airport.
