Helen Flanagan has opened up on experiencing postnatal depression after welcoming her children.
The former Coronation Street star, 33, admitted she 'struggled really badly' after welcoming two of her children. Helen opened up about her experience in honour of Mental Health Awareness Day on Tuesday. The actress shares three children - daughters Matilda, eight, and Delilah, five, and son Charlie, two - with her ex-fiance, former Celtic player Scott Sinclair.
"I struggled badly with post natal after Matilda and with Charlie x Matilda I was really unwell with after, I struggled really badly with OCD and intrusive thoughts and had CBT for a good year x." Fans rushed to praise Helen on her openness as one wrote: "So brave Helen I had post Partum ocd it is the worst thing Iv ever been through."
"Thank you for sharing. I had postpartum depression and the intrusive thoughts, luckily the intrusive part only lasted a few weeks but I thought I was going mad," another said. A third wrote: "I wish therapy was more accessible, NHS is so limited and private is so expensive. Thank you for normalising mental health problems."
