Asbury Park's acclaimed restaurant Heirloom at the St. Laurent, known for its New American cuisine, will be transformed into Judy & Harry's, an Italian restaurant with a 'whimsical and international flair'. The transformation is expected to be complete in early March, bringing a new dining experience to the Shore.

Starting in March the upscale New American eatery will become Judy & Harry’s, an Italian restaurant “with a whimsical, international flair,” the Heirloom Kitchen Instagram account“It has been an amazing 2.5 years breaking bread with you all at Heirloom — these are the moments we live for, intentionally creating a space for real conversations while transporting you to somewhere special,” the Instagram post from Viana and partner Neilly Robinson said.
When Heirloom at the St. Laurent opened at the Shore, it wasn’t just the latest venture from Viana, the Elizabeth native who rose to fame oncommunity . Viana’s inventive take on New American food and a top-flight cocktail program quickly turned the restaurant into“Not at all,” Robinson said. “The St. Laurent team is constantly looking to evolve and innovate alongside us.”
Still, Heirloom’s pivot to Italian food is a curious one. While Heirloom at the St. Laurent was Asbury Park’s only truly elite New American restaurant, the town is awash with Italian restaurants. Old-school red sauce joints like“There are so many incredible Italian restaurants in our community. We hope to be an addition to that, continuing to bring great food to local Jersey diners and visitors alike,” Robinson told NJ Advance Media. “To us, New Jersey is Italian cuisine.
