A video depicts the alleged drug boat exploding into flames and smoke.against alleged drug vessels, killing dozens. The strikes are a part of a military campaign by the Trump administration to target alleged drug smugglers. On Tuesday, the U.S. announced three lethal kinetic strikes in a single day. A total of 14 individuals were killed during the three strikes. Besides the latest strikes, last Friday, Hegseth said he was deploying an aircraft carrier to South America. As the strikes continue, tensions grow between President Donald Trump and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The U.S. accused Maduro of involvement in drug smuggling. "Every one of those boats is responsible for the death of 25,000 American people," Trump said earlier this month. Although not many details were shared, Trump did confirm, earlier this month, that he's authorized the CIA to carry out covert operations in Venezuela. The campaign fueled specualtion that the Trump administration plans to oust the Maduro administration.
