Hector Deleon, a 51-year-old man, was arraigned on seven counts of attempted murder after a violent attack at Penn Station in New York City. Deleon allegedly knifed four people and slugged two others in the face during the random attack.
The grisly details surrounding Hector Deleon 's alleged Sunday rampage, in which four other people suffered slash or stab wounds, were revealed Friday as the madman was arraigned on seven counts of attempted murder .
Deleon, 51, allegedly plunged his double-sided blade into one victim's head, piercing their left temporal lobe, according to a criminal complaint. Sources said Deleon was likely high on drugs during the stabbing spree, knifed four other people in the random attack and slugged two others in the face. One of the victims, Henry Obadiah, 60, was traveling home to New Jersey when Deleon set his sights on him.
Obadiah described the attack, saying, 'The crazy guy locked his eyes on me and just roundhoused me! Clocked me right in the face and I was like, 'What the f-k?
' And I heard the guy on the escalator say, 'He's got a knife! He's got a knife!
'' Obadiah said. 'He went at me to kill me! I saw the rage in his eyes,' he said of the homeless madman. Deleon was also charged with five counts of assault and six counts of attempted assault.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement, 'This was a terrifying attack in the middle of Penn Station during an incredibly busy time in New York City. We will pursue accountability in this matter and continue to prioritize preventing these types of random and violent incidents from occurring in the first place.
' Deleon has a history of violence, having been accused of stabbing a man in the neck with a six-inch blade in a previous incident. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and received just two years of probation when he was sentenced the following year.
