National Weather Service predicting high winds, thunderstorms for Sunday, Monday.
The National Weather Service says a robust storm system will impact the area, beginning Sunday night and continuing into Monday.
Widespread rain will become heavy at times, and the area should prepare for thunderstorms and strong winds, according to the weather service. The soaking rainfall may lead to ponding on the roadways and some modest river rises and localized flooding during the week. Rain is expected to arrive Sunday night, with a few strong severe storms possible on Monday, mainly between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Total rainfall could reach an inch, according to NWS.
The high temperature Monday is expected to be 52 degrees. Isolated showers will dwindle through Monday evening and northwesterly breezes will usher in a cooler air mass, with temperatures expected to fall back into the 30s into Tuesday morning. High temperatures are expected to reach 48 on Tuesday and 52 on Wednesday, before falling back into the mid-30s on Thursday and Friday.
