Heavy downpours as thunder and lightning hits Greater Manchester - latest updates
Thunder and lightning has hit parts of Greater Manchester this morning as rain batters the region.
Video footage from Prestwich shows heavy downpours have hit parts of Bury and north Manchester. The heavy rain looks set to continue until around 11am, according to Met Office forecasts.Twitter forecasters Oldham Weather tweeted: "Latest radar: Hefty, perhaps thundery, downpours to get through this morning, then an improving picture this afternoon with sunny spells and drier conditions."
