Temperatures reached 35C at Kew Gardens at 10am today, on what is set to be the hottest day in the UK’s history
Temperatures are predicted to surge past 40C today in the 'red alert' weather conditions and could reach as high as 42C in some areas making the UK the hottest spot in Europe today.
By 11am on Tuesday, the highest recorded temperature was 37.3C at Charlwood in Surrey, according to the Met Office.
