Humidity-driven heat index values today are expected to reach 105 degrees, but do the long-range models show any potential cold fronts coming?
High atmospheric pressure is developing overhead, and that’ll bring bright sunshine and above-average temperatures across South Texas Friday. Temperatures will likely reach the upper 90s, their highest levels in almost three weeks. Peak temps in a few spots in South Texas could even touch 100 degrees. Weekend temperatures will drop slightly, thanks to increasing cloudiness and tropical moisture from the eastern Pacific Ocean .
While the storm won’t track into Texas, some moisture associated with the tropical cyclone is expected to move into the region. On Saturday, that inflow of moisture will result in partly cloudy skies across South Texas. The extra cloud cover may allow temperatures to drop by a degree or so, but daily peak temps are still expected to be unseasonably high, topping out at 97 degrees in San Antonio. By Saturday night, a few isolated showers are possible, but most of us will stay dry.
