) - A heat advisory will continue tomorrow as the region remains in the grip of a strong ridge of high pressure. Scattered rain remains possible through the weekend, but a front moves across our area on Monday, bringing drier air and sunny skies. Temperatures are expected to stay very hot throughout our seven-day forecast.
Friday might see a slightly lower afternoon temperature due to some morning thunderstorms that may provide early cloud cover and prevent heating. Rain chances will be around 30-40% on Friday. Afternoon storms are possible through the weekend, then a front passes on Monday bringing drier air. Temperatures will not fall after the front, but rain chances drop to zero for the middle of next week.
We are still tracking Hurricane Ernesto as it approaches Bermuda. We expect further strengthening into a major hurricane before slight weakening right as it nears the island. Hurricane warnings are issued and hurricane impacts are expected. For the U.S. East Coast, rough surf can be expected over the next few days.
