A Heat Advisory is in effect today from 11am through 7pm for the western zones of the NBC 15 neighborhood. Counties under the heat advisory are Mobile, Washingt

on, and Clarke in SW Alabama and our interior SE Mississippi counties of Greene and George. Take extra precautions if you'll be working or spending time outside today! Hydrate, make water your drink of choice, stay out of the direct sun, limit the kid's outdoor playtime, and bring the pets inside during peak heating hours.

Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast through mid-week with a third of us getting wet late week. Highs will hover in the mid 90s today through the upcoming weekend. At the beach the risk of rip currents is expected to be low through Wednesday. Always check the flags before entering into Gulf waters.

TROPICS - We're monitoring a tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic that has a medium chance of developing during the next 7 days. It's expected to interact with an approaching tropical wave during the next couple of days. Conditions should become conducive for some development and a tropical depression could form mid to late week while the system is in the vicinity of the northern Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles, SW Atlantic Ocean or the SE Bahamas. Check back for updates.
