Howard Hanna's annual Hearts for Heroes event supports both veterans and children in need.

The fundraiser held Saturday honors brave men and women who served our country, as well as children battling illnesses at local hospitals, by raising money for the "I feel like they don't get the recognition they deserve," said Charlene Lally, manager of Howard Hanna's Chili-Ogden location on Buffalo Road.
"The agents here, the realtors, a lot of first responders are in their families, are friends, past clients. So it's just kind of where our heart is, and that's where we came up with the name Hearts for Heroes.
"Saturday's event included first responders, a live performance from the ROC City Guardians Pipes & Drums, vendors, raffles and more. Police are asking for help finding two children from the Southern Tier. An out-of-state man has been charged for planting a tracker one someone's vehicle in Steuben County, according to the Bath Village Police Department. The suspected hantavirus case in Ontario County involves a Geneva High School student, the Geneva City School District confirmed to 13WHAM.
Camron Douglas and the children's mother, Brittany Spicer, 34, of Clyde, were arrested last month following an investigation into suspected child abuse. A former Geneva police officer indicted in connection with a drug sales scheme has pleaded guilty, according to the special prosecutor in the case.
