LAKE COUNTY , Ohio - The Cleveland police officer who allegedly fired a shot outside Riverview Elementary last week is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Painesville Municipal Court Monday.
According to Lake County Sheriff deputies, Alexander Sinclair, 34, was off-duty when he shot his gun during a domestic violence incident in the school parking lot just after 9 a.m. on Oct. 31.Sinclair is charged with felonious assault, two counts of kidnapping, and discharge of a firearm on or near a prohibited premise.
Cleveland Police confirmed Sinclair is a sergeant at the department and will be suspended without pay through his court proceedings. The Lake County Sheriff's Office named the suspect in the shot fired outside Riverview Elementary School as Cleveland police officer Alexander SinclairLake County Sheriff Frank Leonbruno posted on Facebook that the incident began off campus and moved on campus when the suspect’s vehicle collided with another vehicle.
