PUTRAJAYA, June 2 — The number of dengue fever cases increased by 7.9 per cent to 2,638 cases in the 21st Epidemiological Week from May 21 to 27, compared to 2,444 cases reported in the previous week.
He said the cumulative number of dengue cases reported to date was 46,257 compared to 17,496 cases recorded in the same period last year, which is an increase of 164.4 per cent. According to Dr Muhammad Radzi, 72 hotspots were reported this week compared to 77 in the previous week, with 53 localities in Selangor, Penang , Sabah , Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya , and one each in Kedah and Perak, respectively.
