PUTRAJAYA: None of the Health Ministry’s staff has contracted Covid-19 from treating patients infected with the disease, says Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health director-general said those who were tasked with looking after Covid-19 patients at isolation wards or intensive care units were instructed to don personal protective equipment at all times.
“This is because they practise the wearing of PPE throughout their duty, ” said Dr Hisham at a press conference here on Wednesday . “They contracted it from attending events such as wedding ceremonies, and from there, they passed it on to their colleagues at work. “These 36 had gotten the virus when they were treating patients who failed to inform doctors that they had been in contact with high-risk people. So at that time, the officers were not wearing their PPE.
