Family and friends of a missing fire police captain who was found dead over the weekend are now left to pick up the pieces.
Tony Bortner, 51, was reported missing on Oct. 17. His body was found Friday on the Susquehanna River following over two weeks of searching.
“I was contacted around 3:15 in the afternoon to advise me that the search crews had found something. At that time we assembled our crews here at our station to go down,” said David Rittenhouse, Laurel Fire Company chief.
