Mitchell Moses is out of Magic Round – and no certainty to return for next week’s final Origin I audition – as Cronulla recall Braydon Trindall.
Mitchell Moses will not return for Magic Round this weekend and is no guarantee to return the following week in a development that will have major ramifications for the NSW Blues.
“He was always aiming for the Souths game next weekend, Magic Round would have been a bonus, but he wasn’t ready this weekend,” Arthur told this masthead. With key halfback options Nathan Cleary and Adam Reynolds already on the sideline with long-term injuries, new NSW coach Michael Maguire is desperate for Moses to be available. When pressed on Moses’ Origin availability, Arthur said: “I don’t pick the team, but if he doesn’t play against Souths, I can’t see how he goes into Origin without having a played a game. That’s not fair on him, and that’s not fair on NSW.
Meanwhile, Cronulla’s Nicho Hynes has been named for the match of the round against the Roosters, while Braydon Trindall has been included in the 22-man squad.
