DCU fans are divided over the casting of Nathan Fillion in James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, as he is set to play Guy Gardner, one of the Green Lanterns.
Superman: Legacy's Green Lantern casting divides DC Universe fans on social media. James Gunn's first movie in Chapter 1 of the DCU, "Gods and Monsters," has ramped up its star-studded cast, with frequent Gunn collaborator Nathan Fillion joining the project as Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern. Fillion has appeared in some capacity in every Gunn project. Most recently, this was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he also played T.D.K.

However, the last sentence of the tweet conveys optimism about Gunn delivering a Superman movie that audiences have never seen before.
James Preston Poole doesn't think that Fillion is the right choice for Gardner, believing the casting is "A wildly, wildly misguided one." J.A. Prentice does not think the casting of Gardner is inherently bad, but felt his inclusion as Green Lantern was "so predictable." However, he expected Fillion to play Hal Jordan instead of Gardner.
