Police have shifted their investigation from a missing endangered child search to a death investigation in the case of the missing 6-year-old boy from Everman whose mother and step father fled the county.

The chief said the “extremely difficult case” has left him angry and confused, “probably like many of you have felt.” Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, 6, was reported missing to police a few weeks ago after family said they have not seen him in months. “He was a sweet little boy,” Paris said. “He was the bubbliest kid. … He didn’t deserve this. No child does.”Authorities believe Noel was last seen by a professional for speech therapy July 21, Spencer said at aAuthorities confirmed Noel was alive in early October when his mother gave birth to twins, and he was seen in mid-October after they left the hospital. He was later described to authorities as “unhealthy and malnourished” at that time.

Witnesses told authorities that Rodriguez-Singh referred to Noel as “evil, possessed or having a demon in him” and that she believed he was going to harm the newborns.
