Chris Pratt's Mercy, one of 2026's sci-fi movies, became a hit on Prime Video recently. Likewise, a Netflix Original movie, War Machine, which stars Reacher's Alan Ritchson, was the #1 movie on the streaming service for a long period. For those looking to keep that exciting streak of sci-fi films going, HBO Max's movie catalog offers many exciting options. However, I'm convinced that the ideal pick is a space opera that is among HBO Max's best offerings. HBO Max Is The Home Of A Game-Changing Sci-Fi Movie Dune: Part Two is available to stream on HBO Max. The movie is the second entry in director Denis Villeneuve's Dune franchise. Not only have both Dune movies been successful at the box office so far, but they have also enchanted critics worldwide. Dune: Part Two fares better than its predecessor, with a near-perfect 92% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also boasts a 95% audience score. The second Dune movie widens the story's scope, with Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides fighting to retake Arrakis, while his actions slowly begin to change the galaxy. Dune: Part Two changes the franchise forever, with Paul ending the movie in a very different place than where he started. It went on to gross $714.8 million worldwide, which is no small feat. Why Dune: Part Two Is Worth Watching On HBO Max Two years later, Dune: Part Two remains worth watching on HBO Max. While the experience is not the same as watching the movie in theaters, given that the Dune films are designed with that event movie feel to them, the sci-fi epic still manages to leave viewers in awe from the comfort of their homes. Dune: Part Two is a visual feast. The film skillfully mixes cutting-edge CGI with creative practical effects to make planets, vehicles, battles, and more look and feel as realistic and intense as possible. Acting-wise, the whole cast is top-notch, with Chalamet and Zendaya commanding the screen whenever they appear. Austin Butler is clearly having a good time as Feyd-Rautha, making the movie's physical threat an unpredictable player.
