Hazel Green’s Samiya Steele has been named the ASWA's 2022 Miss Basketball.
Published: Mar. 31, 2022, 12:58 p.m.Hazel Green’s Samiya Steele earned the top state girls high school basketball award on Thursday, named the Alabama Sports Writers Association Miss Basketball.
“When you talk about Hazel Green girls basketball over the last couple of years, you think Samiya Steele,” said Hazel Green coach Tim Miller. “She is the heart and soul of the program.” Player of the Year for girls and boys in eight classes were also named along with girls and boys Super All-State.
